Scripture Union Daily Guide 20 September 2026 Outline
Notice the great contrast between yesterday’s reading and that of today. The Lamb takes over the stage with His faithful 144,000. See how they are described (Revelation 14:1). Note what follows in Revelation 14:2-5. Their privilege is also worth noting here. God always keeps His promises when we trust Him in trying times, the waves of godlessness, immorality and compromise notwithstanding.
The next scene opens with the angel with the everlasting gospel to be preached to all nations and kindreds of the earth (Revelation 14:6). God’s appeal of mercy to sinning humanity to repent and accept Jesus continues before the outpouring of His wrath. Note the secret of spiritual greatness in Revelation 14:7, and observe what follows in Revelation 14:8-10.
This will be God’s final judgment on sin. Patience and faithfulness are being rewarded here (Revelation 14:12,13). Babylon (Revelation 14:8) representing the political, commercial and religious systems of the world faces the wrath of the Son of man who is ready with His sickle together with His holy angels to pour out judgement (here referred to as the great wine press) on the unrepentant (Revelation 14:14-20).
